Touring through Wales

Blaenau Ffestiniog is the centre of the slate industry in Wales. These mountains behind the town are littered with bits of slate, offcuts/tailings and ruins of old buildings related to the mining of slate. The best slate for building of course is not sitting on the surface of these hills but mined from under the ground using a series of tunnels.
